Moran was just the steady influence me and my husband needed up to, during and after the birth of our second daughter. After meeting with Moran and telling her our story, she recommended we attend her hypnobirthing course, as well as agreeing to be our doula.
The course and associated preparation left me feeling so confident and relaxed about my upcoming birth that I laboured at home for 8 hours without even thinking to call her for support, and not once believing I was in labour, because it all felt too easy! Turns out I was actually only hours from giving birth by the time we thought to ring her! It was during those last hours and immediately after the birth that Moran provided reassurance, quiet confidence, and measured advice, which allowed me to remain calm and achieve exactly the unmedicated birth I wanted.
One of the affirmations I wrote during my birth preparation was: “I, and only I, have the power to achieve the birth I want”. Indeed, Moran’s skill lies in how she supports women to harness the skills and power they already have, so they come out the other side feeling even more empowered and ready for anything. My husband and I attended a hypnobirthing course ran by Moran, we connected instantly with Moran and asked her to be our doula for our sons birth. We learnt so much from the hypnobirthing course; breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques, active birth poses and importantly how to have an informed birthing experience – which we did. The birth of my son was the best day of my life; it was however a very long two day labour and Moran’s support (for myself and my husband) was invaluable! Moran was hands on, massaging, helping with poses, guiding me, supporting both of us, taking photos, updating family and helping us make decisions. After the birth Moran encapsulated my placenta and I had a wonderful postpartum experience; great breastfeeding journey, no issues with PPD, and found the lack of sleep easier to cope with than I’d expected. I highly recommend Moran’s support on your journey to becoming parents – the best investment you’ll ever make!
