What are the Benefits of HypnoBirthing?
HypnoBirthing has many benefits for pregnancy, birth and parenting. Whilst we don’t promise births free of pain or unanticipated events, we do know from our data that doing HypnoBirthing greatly reduces the need for interventions, pain medications and surgical birth. Our mothers are reporting their births are shorter, more comfortable using the techniques, and their babies are calm and nurturing well.
Fear is one of the leading causes of traumatic birth, and HypnoBirthing mothers approach their birth feeling confident and free of the fear that causes pain, and causes many parents to accept unnecessary intervention that can cascade their birth for disappointing outcomes.
HypnoBirthing couples are informed and through their knowledge from the course are able to advocate for their choices and ensure they choose care providers that support them to reach their birth goals. Partners are taught to support mum in a way that makes their birth partnership one that they will cherish forever.

The overall benefits of HypnoBirthing, allows birthing parents to appreciate labour and a calm and gentle birth, making the experience a joyful one for mother, baby, and birth companion—benefits that can last a life time.
Many contemporary women in our culture hold an unprecedented anxiety and fear of giving birth. Too often associating it with pain, therefore causing their bodies to become unable to perform what should be a natural function. HypnoBirthing is a unique method of relaxed, natural childbirth education enhanced by self‑hypnosis, guided relaxation and breathing techniques that allow birthing mothers to use their natural abilities to experience a safer, easier, and more comfortable delivery.
HypnoBirthing teaches woman how to release all prior programming about birth to free herself of limiting thoughts and emotions that lead to pain-causing fear and resistant muscles. When giving birth with self hypnosis, a mother is not in a trance or asleep but instead in a state of deep relaxation—awake, aware, and fully in control.
HypnoBirthing International brings the official Mongan Method HypnoBirthing program to Australia. Make sure to look out for the seal of quality to our official and approved HypnoBirthing Educators. Search the directory to find a HypnoBirthing class near you and learn all the self-hypnosis techniques you will need for natural pain relief and a positive birth experience.
In a series of classes, women will experience what makes labour hurt; but more importantly, they learn the logic behind why labour doesn’t have to be so painful and what can be done to reduce pain naturally. Mothers and their birth companions learn the physical and chemical changes that occur when fear and anxiety occurs. The HypnoBirthing® techniques practiced in class are designed to help women see the relationship between fear and the possibility of pain. The process teaches you relaxation techniques that also become life skills used for parenting. The calming techniques and steps that are taught help create endorphins and avoid the effect of the negative hormones that cause birthing bodies to constrict, rather than open.
You can experience birthing in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear that prevents the muscles of your body from functioning as nature intended them to. In this calm state, your body’s natural relaxant, endorphins, replaces the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.
