HypnoBirthing® is changing the birthing World
Obstetricians, midwives and birth professionals all over the world are educating themselves with the HypnoBirthing Mongan Method program, as its evidenced based outcomes for positive birth are a key to real change in eliminating unnecessary intervention in the absence of special circumstances.
Almost one-third of all births in Australia are now caesareans, according to the latest mothers and babies report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
The overall caesarean rate has reached 32.3 per cent, and has hit 49 per cent for women aged over 40.
“Never more has there been a time and need for our message of calm and positive birth” claims Australian Faculty Member Anthea Thomas, 43.
“Our program is now widely recognised as a ‘vehicle’ for that change, and is without doubt the most comprehensive and successful Childbirth Education program globally” Mrs Thomas highlighted.
Medical fraternity who were once ‘opposed’ or had ‘misconceptions’ about the program, are now embracing outcomes and philosophy, and are opening their minds and doors, to introduce the program to new and growing families.
Recent data of the success and benefits of the program, has resulted in this HypnoBirthing® initivtive being taught to interested parents at Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals as an antenatal education program.
As a result of these hospitals success, Royal North Shore Hospital is currently running a pilot educational program for couples seeking to learn more about HypnoBirthing – The Mongan Method.
Roseville Pre-natal yoga and HypnoBirthing Practitioner Helen Scard is running the classes at RNS.
“It is a absolute passion and dream fulfilled to be able to teach couples parents-to-be” enthused the hypnotherapist expert.
“To be able to offer the classes to couples in Sydney at an affordable price, a program that is professional, Australian focused and combined with the highest standards of integrity and ethics is a exciting initiative” Ms Scard reports.
The self-hypnosis programme taught over 5 weeks involves parents-to-be learning deep relaxation and breathing techniques that all the evidence shows results in an easier, comfortable and often drug-free birth.
Techniques include special breathing, physical preparation, positive thinking, visualization and relaxation exercises.
1/3 of the Australian HypnoBirthing Mongan Method practitioners are midwives, and the program is supported by The Australian College of Midwives in working towards the Toward Normal Birth Policy.
