A very belated thank you note from all of us, after the amazing all natural home birth of our beautiful son, kai oashi jaya. Born into the water just after midnight on the morning of the 17th June, after a 3.5 hour labour in the stone cottage on our midwife, Jenny’s property.
The fire was on, beautiful mantra’s playing and sounds of nature all around. Your healing rose quartz candle was burning peacefully on the altar and although a little ‘over-due. Kai came to us at the perfect moment in time…giving mike and I eight days of being together ‘just us’ which was really special.
The visualising, affirmations, breathing and yoga all magically melding together. With no pre warning, the contractions started just after dinner at 8.30pm and it was all go with them coming stronger and quicker starting at less than 5 mins apart (very intense – not quite the ‘calmness’ I had envisaged but I am not complaining) with Mikey just getting the pool blown up in time and the wood fired stove on to heat the water, and once in the water, Kai was born all at once (Mikey says if he wasn’t there to catch him he would have landed in new zealand!) at midnight.
We then had over an hour of pure bliss in the pool, just the 3 of us, where Kai had his first feed…it was pure love and divine energy. Although Kai was 10 days ‘late’ I must have been preparing on all levels (and thinning and opening!) especially in the final few weeks, as the short labour was pretty amazing and I am sure due to all the HypnoBirthing gems that you shared with us.
Kai was in the perfect position (for weeks before actually)in the womb and he is such a gorgeous, happy, healthy, smiley and bubbly baby. He started crawling at 4 and half months and has lots of energy ! 🙂
So thank you thank you thank you so deeply to you and Ingrid for your teachings and inspiration.
We always knew he was ‘Kai’ (Hawaiian for ocean) and we were calling him our ocean bub and hence his nickname “oashi”, short for ‘ocean’ has stayed as we used that during the pregnancy and I since found out that in Japanese it means “delicious’! Jaya is victorious and we feel very blessed.
Sal, mikey and kai xoxo
