28 Weeks Pregnant
Start of the 3rd trimester! Your baby is around 1005g, 37.6cm and the size of a large head of lettuce.
Baby’s Development
If you see a large eggplant at the vegetable shop then this is a good indication of your baby’s size. Billions of neurons are developing in your baby’s brain as she is preparing to add more body fat in preparation for life outside the womb. As her eyesight is also developing she will now filter any light that shines into your womb with her eyelashes.
What’s Happening For You
- You may notice that you are feeling a little heavier – take some time out to rest listening to your HypnoBirthing downloads and/or reading the HypnoBirthing book.
Things To Consider
- Remember, that as you make time to relax, you are teaching your baby how to relax in utero.
- Bedtime: For some women finding comfortable positions for sleep can mean a restless night. Pillows under your belly and knees can be helpful. If you have a bean-bag or a belly bag this can be a blessing for the ‘belly sleeper’ and the aching back! Place your bean bag on the floor, make a space in the centre for your belly, bend your knees and slowly lower your belly into the belly space, make adjustments for your head and move the beans around until you are comfortably supported. Ask your partner to cover you with a blanket for some well earned sleep. When you wake up move the bean bag into the bed so that you can semi-recline onto the bag (Do Not Lie Flat On Your Back) and place a pillow under your knees (To Assist With Removing Tension From The Spine). Bean Bags can be purchased from stores such as Kmart & Target.
