7 Weeks Pregnant
This week your baby has significant growth, and your body is going through many changes, although they may not be so obvious to you. Your baby is around 11-13mm and the size of a blueberry.
Baby’s Development
Development of your baby is moving rapidly! The face is now complete with eyes, nose, lips and tongue. Your baby even has primitive milk teeth. Tiny bones and muscles appear beneath the thin skin.
The brain, spinal cord and nervous system are more developed. The limb buds have now grown into arms and legs.
At the beginning of this week your baby is around 4-5mm, and by the end of the week is measuring 11-13mm.
What’s Happening For You
- There are so many changes happening within your body, although you may not be noticing them. An increase in blood supply may cause you to feel more breast heaviness, and you may be noticing that you are more flushed than normal, and your palms seem more reddened.
- Nausea, tiredness and increased vaginal discharge are all normal signs at this stage of the pregnancy. Some women report that they feel a little light headed at this stage, but if you are concerned, always check with your care provider.
Things To Consider
- Tests – once your pregnancy is confirmed, and as the weeks progress, there are a number of tests that may be offered to you. In some cases, care providers can be a little heavy on the amount of ultrasounds and tests, so always do your research on what is being offered. - Exercise – although you may not be feeling like you have much energy, it is still important to do something light each day, like go for a walk or a swim.
