Baby’s Development
At six weeks pregnant, so much is already happening! The nervous system and brain are beginning to grow. Your baby’s face is forming into a mouth, a lower jaw, and dark circles where the eyes will be. External ears develop from tiny skin folds The heart is beating and pumping blood through the developing vessels. Little buds start to appear, that will become your baby’s arms and legs!
What’s Happening For You
- You may notice now that you are needing to go to the toilet more often, as urinary frequency increases due to the uterus being compresses against your pelvic bones reducing its capacity.
- The exchange of nutrients and waste begins through the placenta. The two circulations are completely separate.
- If you are feeling a little nauseous at this stage, it is normal, and is due to increased hormones, a very relaxed digestive tract, lower blood sugar levels, and possibly from being low in Vitamin B. Things To Consider
- At 6 weeks pregnant, you may be beginning to notice some signs of pregnancy now, particularly a feeling of tiredness. Rest up mummy, growing humans takes lots of physical and emotional energy.
