29 Weeks Pregnant
The 3rd trimester! You are 6 months and 1 week pregnant! Your baby is around 1153g, 38.6cm long and the size of a rockmelon.
Baby’s Development
As your baby continues to grow your belly will begin to feel even more compact and you will begin to feel baby’s movements as she likes to communicate to the sounds, light and healthy food you’re digesting! Baby is continuing to lay down ‘white fat’ which is to store energy and produce hormones that are then secreted into the bloodstream. The volume of blood in your body is also increasing as your uterus expands with your growing baby. When you are sitting or resting, the movements are often felt more strongly with kicks, elbows, knees and those tiny feet under your rib cage. When you are walking, baby is often rocked to sleep by the movement of your pelvis and when you stop for a rest or sit down baby will wake up and begin communicating with you again.
What’s Happening For You
- It is always a good idea to communicate with your baby via your thoughts how happy you are with these movements as they are essential for baby’s growth.
- Your growing baby and expanding uterus can put pressure on your pelvic veins causing tired legs and spider veins or varicose veins and/or haemorrhoids.
- Colostrum may begin leaking from your breasts. If so, place breast pads inside your bra.
- Any sign of restless legs please discuss with your health care advisor.
Things To Consider
- Keep a note of your baby’s movements to record how often and at what time baby communicates with you.
- Avoiding sugary sweets and drinks, especially carbonated drinks. Snacking instead on high energy foods like fresh or dried fruit and nuts to help maintain balanced energy levels together with drinking plenty of filtered water. And of course, practicing your HypnoBirthing techniques will have a cumulative effect of maintaining your general wellbeing.
